Malaysia

It is with great pride that I extend my warmest greetings and unwavering support for the Asia International Security Summit and Expo 2025 (AISSE’25). This landmark event, the nation’s first internal and national security gathering of such scale, marks a transformative milestone in our collective pursuit of enhanced security within Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region. Hosting this event in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) is both an honour and a testament to our commitment to global peace and security.

AISSE’25, to be held from January 20-22, 2025, at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), is a pivotal platform for addressing pressing security challenges of our time. With the theme “Asia United: Charting the Future of Global Peace and Security through Law Enforcement Collaboration,” the summit emphasizes the importance of cross-border partnerships and technological advancements in shaping a safer future. This event will enable stakeholders to network, collaborate, and share cutting-edge innovations that redefine the safety and security landscape. A major highlight is the inaugural Cybercrime Prevention Summit 2025, supported by the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), underscoring the urgency of addressing cyber threats in the digital era.

Technology in Security: Key Developments
As we aim to enhance Malaysia’s standing on the Global Peace Index, AISSE’25 will showcase how technological innovations redefine security frameworks. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in security is transformative, enabling real-time responses and proactive measures against evolving threats. Here are seven technological advancements shaping the future of security:

  • AI-Driven Surveillance: Intelligent monitoring systems utilizing machine learning to detect threats, enhance situational awareness, and strengthen public safety efforts.
  • Autonomous Border Control: Automated systems, including drones and vessels, ensure precise surveillance over maritime and land boundaries, mitigating illegal activities.
  • Blockchain for Transparency: Securing data integrity in maritime trade and combating illicit activities like smuggling and sea robbery.
  •  Cybersecurity Enhancements: Advanced measures to safeguard critical infrastructures, prevent cyber intrusions, and counter cyber terrorism.
  • Predictive Analytics: Data-driven insights to forecast and prevent criminal activities, ensuring a proactive approach to security.
  • Satellite Imaging & Geo-Fencing: Strengthening border security by providing real-time data on unauthorized movements and activities.
  • Digital Forensics & AI Expertise: Building capabilities to investigate digital crimes, tackle cyber threats, and bridge digital gaps in law enforcement.

AISSE’25, alongside the Cybercrime Prevention Summit, will bring together over 100 security organizations, 1,000 delegates, 50 VIP delegations, and 5,000 visitors from 20+ countries. This diverse participation underscores the global commitment to fostering collaboration in combating transnational crime and cyber threats while advancing peace and security.

Strategic Partnerships and Vision
Malaysia’s 23 strategic partners and 34 existing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) underline our dedication to cooperative security efforts. These agreements cover critical areas, including transnational crime, drug
enforcement, extradition, and cybersecurity. By working closely with international allies, private sectors, and academia, we reinforce Malaysia’s position as a safe, thriving destination for tourism, investment, and commerce.

A Unified Path Forward
AISSE’25 is not just a conference but a call to action to innovate, collaborate, and adapt in the face of emerging security challenges. The integration of AI in managing foreign workers, addressing extremism, and securing borders highlights our proactive approach to safeguarding communities. By fostering partnerships across sectors and nations, we can ensure a safer, more resilient future for all.

In closing, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the exhibitors, sponsors, and participants whose contributions have made AISSE’25 possible. Let us embrace this opportunity to shape the future of global peace and security through innovation and collaboration. Together, we can build a world that is not only safer but also a beacon of stability and progress.

Thank you, and I look forward to engaging discussions and impactful outcomes at AISSE’25.
