General Commissioner
Prisons Department

Ministry of Home Affairs

As the Director General of the Prisons Department, it is with great enthusiasm that I extend our full support to the Asia International Security Summit and Expo 2025 (AISSE’25). This landmark event, hosted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Royal Malaysia Police, represents a significant milestone in Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to advancing security practices and fostering international collaboration.

The theme of AISSE’25, “Asia United: Charting the Future of Global Peace and Security through Law Enforcement Collaboration,” reflects our collective dedication to addressing global security challenges and contributing to international peace, as highlighted in the Global Peace Index 2024. This index underscores the growing importance of coordinated efforts to improve peace and stability worldwide, a mission to which our department is deeply committed.

Our responsibilities encompass the oversight and administration of correctional facilities across the nation, ensuring that they operate in a secure, humane, and effective manner. This involves not only the custody and rehabilitation of offenders but also the implementation of advanced security measures to prevent breaches and maintain order. Additionally, we remain steadfast in our commitment to rehabilitating and reintegrating inmates into society, equipping them with the skills and support needed to reduce recidivism. AISSE’25 provides an invaluable platform for us to enhance these strategies by adopting the latest innovations in security.

One of the key highlights of AISSE’25 is the Cybercrime Prevention Summit 2025, supported by the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA). As cyber threats increasingly impact various sectors, including correctional facilities, the insights from this summit are critical to strengthening our cybersecurity measures and safeguarding the operational integrity of our institutions.

AISSE’25 serves as a premier platform for exchanging knowledge, strategies, and innovations in security. It brings together a diverse group of experts, policymakers, and industry leaders, reflecting our collective commitment to building a secure and resilient society. The Prisons Department is eager to collaborate with other security agencies, leveraging these insights to enhance our operational capabilities and contribute to reduced recidivism and greater public safety.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Royal Malaysia Police for organizing this impactful event, as well as to all exhibitors, sponsors, and participants. Your unwavering support is crucial for the success of AISSE’25 and the advancement of our shared security efforts.

In conclusion, the Prisons Department is honored to be part of AISSE’25. We look forward to the productive discussions and innovations that will emerge from this summit, and we remain committed to applying the knowledge gained to achieve our shared goal of a safer and more secure future.

Thank you, and let us continue to work together towards these vital objectives.
