Director-General of Immigration
Malaysia

Security challenges in today’s interconnected and rapidly evolving world require innovative solutions, proactive collaboration, and shared commitments. The Asia International Security Summit (AISSE’25), under the theme “Asia United: Charting the Future of Global Peace and Security through Law Enforcement Collaboration,” provides an exceptional platform to foster dialogue, strengthen partnerships, and drive innovation in immigration and security. As we convene at this prestigious event, we reaffirm our dedication to building a safer, more secure, and inclusive future for all.
Congratulations to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and the organizing team for their vision and leadership in bringing this significant initiative to realisation. Their commitment to advancing national and regional security is evident through this platform, which not only showcases cutting-edge technologies but also facilitates the exchange of expertise and best practices among global security and immigration professionals.
AIISE25 is more than an event—it is a testament to the power of collaboration. It offers us a unique opportunity to address shared challenges, explore innovative solutions, and reinforce the values that unite us: human rights, freedom, and the rule of law. Let these principles guide our discussions and shape our strategies as we confront the complexities of modern security and immigration issues.
For the Immigration Department of Malaysia, safeguarding our borders while enabling legitimate travel and migration is a critical priority. By working closely with law enforcement, intelligence partners, and the international community, we remain vigilant in identifying and mitigating potential threats. At the same time, we ensure that legal travellers and migrants can contribute positively to our economy and society, upholding their dignity and rights.
Immigration challenges demand nuanced approaches that balance security needs with inclusivity and respect for all. AIISE25 serves as a vital platform to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and collectively develop strategies that ensure both safety and prosperity. Together, we can build a Malaysia and a region that is secure, inclusive, and ready to embrace the opportunities of the future.
Congratulations once again to all involved in organising AIISE25, and I wish everyone a productive and inspiring event. Let us continue to work together towards achieving our shared vision of a safer, stronger, and more resilient community.
